Introduction
Nepal is nestled between two-giant countries–India and China, it is one of a few
countries in the world where such immense climatic and topographic diversity features so
dramatically and is crammed into such a small geographical area (Leo, R. & Pradyumma, K. &
Richard, Proud & Matinuzzaman, Z. 2018) “Nepal”. This small South Asian country is home to
the highest mountains in the world; Mount Everest (8,848 m) known locally as Sagarmatha and
ranges from 700 meters above sea level in the southern plains of Tarai. In terms of its geography
Nepal only covers a merely 147,181 sq. km area (Leo, R. & Pradyumma, K. & Richard, Proud &
Matinuzzaman, Z. 2018).
Even though Nepal has an array of ethnic groups with vibrant cultures, religions, ancient
and history it is one of the poorest countries in Asia, with about 85% of its population living in
rural areas (Eds.Admin 2017). Also the overall population (25.2%) is consider to be below the
national neediness line, with the negligible amount of salary to meet their basic needs. Poverty
induces overpopulation, illiteracy and thus continues the cycle of poverty (Quara. 2017).
Since much of the population does lives below the poverty line some of the most
deprived are women and children. (Quara. 2017) states that there is a “high maternal mortality
rate in women due to early marriage’s which happens to be a normal routine for the general
public in Nepal. It results to expand the maternal death rate. It’s evaluated that about 30 for each
penny moms conceive an offspring before they are coming to 16 years states. There is 258
deaths/100,000 live births 2015 est”. That rate is an annual number of female deaths per 100,000
live births states (Index Mundi 2018).

Children are deprived of a least one of the seven basic needs. Discrimination is especially
evident in terms of geography, age, gender, ethnicity, language, education, HIV status, disability
and income in Nepal.
Solution
So what can be done to lower the Maternal Mortality Rate in Nepal? I think educational
awareness, good general health care and some type of interventions. According to (Roman, S.
2017) there has been several studies done that have demonstrated the applicability and
effectiveness of simple, cost-effective interventions aimed at local level to encourage people to
seek prenatal care, thus, decreasing risk during or after birth. For example, a low-income country
like Nepal, where Maternal Mortality Rate was well over 500 per 100,000 live births embarked
on unique and rigorous community outreach agendas and home-based service delivery system by
skilled health workers, especially in underserved areas (Roman, S. 2017). With the benefit of a
newly increased public awareness and access to healthcare within Nepal they were able to
remarkably reduce Maternal Mortality Rate.
How can we reduce poverty Nepal? There are several things that can be done to help out
with the poverty that Nepal as. First, we need to let and educated wealthy neighboring countries
know about the issue in Nepal and get those countries some to help. Assist the public schools by
improve the delivery of education, providing interesting books, educational materials, and
teachers (CFFN. N.D.).
With only 17% of the land in Nepal being used the other 83% of the unused land should and can
be utilized to develop some new endeavors to generate income to alleviate poverty in Nepal.

There are lots of natural resources (quarts, copper, iron ore and timber) that are worth a lot and
these resources can be used to decrease poverty (CFFN. N.D.).
Conclusion
Surrounding countries need to help Nepal get access to better health care,
cleaner drinking water, teacher and proper sanitation services. As well as empower adolescent
girls that are at risk of, and affected by, marriage. Working with the families and the
communities to promote positive behaviors towards girls. If you ensured that these girls had the
education and health care it would give them the knowledge that they need to know about having
babies, sexual diseases and could possibly help stop the high Maternal Mortality rate (Roman, S.
2017).
With 83% of unused land in Nepal outside companies could help with low agricultural
productivity (CFFN. N.D.). The government could help and give access to affordable credit and
help lower the unemployment rates so that Nepal’s economy won’t be so low. With Nepal being
one of the many underdeveloped countries they could diffidently benefits from processes of
globalization by getting more jobs, incomes, new technologies, and skills (Bimal, G. 2015). The
globalization may have the adverse implications as well. Underdeveloped countries could
compete with developed countries (i.e. competition between unequal), which could increase the
gap between haves and have-nots and so on. Liberalization, structural adjustment, and
privatization in the process of globalization that could impact the Nepalese economy (Bimal, G.
2015).

future research, or propose a call to action.
